Nutrient Formula and Labelled Value配合式与标明值

A nutrient formula expresses the content of the three macro elements in the form N-P₂O₅-K₂O — for example 15-15-15 means 15% nitrogen, 15% available phosphorus pentoxide and 15% potassium oxide. The labelled value is the nutrient content declared on the package and is itself one of the criteria against which the product is judged.

Key points

  • The total nutrient content should equal the sum of the individual nutrients, and compound and blended fertilizers must declare an N-P₂O₅-K₂O formula (GB 18382-2021).
  • Under GB/T 15063-2020, no single nutrient may be below 4.0%, and the absolute value of the negative deviation of a measured single nutrient from the labelled value must not exceed 1.5%.
  • It is not permitted to declare nutrient content by splitting the contents of the package — for example declaring 20% organic matter in the black granules and 25% total nutrients in the grey granules.
  • Where secondary or micro elements are declared, each element and its content must be named; secondary elements below 2% and micro elements below 0.02% must not be declared.
