Notore Chemical Industries Plc
Nigerian nitrogen fertilizer producer and distributor operating a urea and ammonia complex at Onne, serving West African agriculture.
Company overview
Notore Chemical Industries Plc is a vertically integrated agro-allied and chemicals business listed on the Nigerian Exchange under the ticker NOTORE, operating from its Onne Complex near Port Harcourt in Rivers State within the Onne Oil and Gas Free Zone, which provides tax benefits and logistics advantages for international distribution. The complex covers approximately 560 hectares with 2 kilometres of waterfront, including the Notore Port and a dedicated jetty able to receive vessels of 25,000 to 35,000 metric tons.
The company's annual design production capacity is approximately 500,000 metric tons of urea and 330,000 metric tons of ammonia, complemented by an installed NPK blending plant with a capacity of 2,000 metric tons per day. Its granular urea carries a formaldehyde coating that dissolves slowly in tropical conditions, and the company states its products have reached an estimated 14 million farming households across Nigeria.
Notore supplies and sells fertilizer products in all thirty-six Nigerian states and the Federal Capital Territory, and trades and exports to West Africa, South Africa, South America and Europe. Beyond fertilizer, the group operates Notore Seeds, which develops and markets high-yield seed varieties, and Notore Power and Infrastructure, which provides utilities and logistics services from the Onne site.
