Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals Limited

Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals Limited was established in 1985 by Dr. K K Birla and operates an integrated manufacturing complex of three urea plants at a single location in Gadepan, near Kota in Rajasthan, with a combined annual capacity of 3.4 million tonnes, making it the largest private-sector urea manufacturer in India with a market share of about 10 percent.

For FY2025 the company reported standalone revenue of INR 16,646 crore, down 7 percent on lower urea and P&K sales volumes, while EBITDA rose 17 percent to INR 2,838 crore and profit after tax grew 24 percent to INR 1,657 crore. Urea production was 3.461 million tonnes and urea sales 3.471 million tonnes, both higher than the previous year.

Alongside urea, the company markets complex fertilisers, crop protection chemicals and specialty nutrients under the flagship Uttam brand through about 4,765 dealers and more than 76,000 retailers across 14 states; the crop protection and specialty nutrients business grew to INR 1,400 crore of net revenue in FY2025 from INR 926 crore a year earlier.

Strategic projects include a 240,000-tonne-per-year technical ammonium nitrate plant at Gadepan, due to begin commercial operations in January 2026, and the IMACID joint venture with OCP of Morocco, which produces phosphoric acid and is expanding capacity from about 500,000 to 700,000 tonnes by 2027.
