Kumiai Chemical Industry Co., Ltd., founded in 1949 and headquartered in Tokyo, is a Japanese manufacturer of agricultural chemicals and fine chemicals, listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange under the code 4996. The agricultural chemicals and agriculture-related business covers paddy rice herbicides such as EFFEEDA, nursery-box fungicides such as DISARTA and the field-crop herbicide AXEEV sold mainly in the United States, Argentina and Australia.

For the fiscal year ended October 31, 2025 the group reported consolidated net sales of JPY 170,462 million, up 5.8 percent and a 15th consecutive annual increase, with the agrochemicals segment at JPY 135,697 million, fine chemicals at JPY 25,100 million and other businesses at JPY 9,664 million. Operating profit fell 6.9 percent to JPY 10,567 million as generic competition pressured the AXEEV franchise, and profit attributable to owners of parent fell 67.8 percent to JPY 4,381 million, partly on impairment losses on non-current assets.

Overseas sales accounted for 59.3 percent of the total, with AXEEV net sales of JPY 75.4 billion, up JPY 4.4 billion, as increased shipments to the United States and Australia offset a decline in Argentina. In fine chemicals, shipments of bismaleimides rose on demand for electronic materials used in generative AI servers, and the group is executing the medium-term plan KUMI STORY 2026.
