National Fertilizers Limited

National Fertilizers Limited, established in 1974 and headquartered in Noida, is an Indian Navratna public sector undertaking under the Department of Fertilizers and the country's second-largest urea producer. It operates five gas-based ammonia-urea plants at Nangal and Bathinda in Punjab, Panipat in Haryana and two units at Vijaipur in Madhya Pradesh, and markets products under the Kisan brand through a network covering 21 states.

For the financial year ended March 2025 the company reported turnover of INR 19,794.50 crore, lower than INR 23,560.31 crore a year earlier mainly on lower average gas prices and reduced fertilizer sales, while profit before tax rose 17.6 percent to INR 104.08 crore. Urea production was 37.14 lakh tonnes at a capacity utilization of 114.9 percent.

The industrial products segment grew revenue 43 percent to INR 673.48 crore, with nitric acid sales up 14.32 percent and ammonium nitrate up 37 percent. The company introduced Urea Gold, a sulphur-coated urea variant, and is setting up 5,000-tonne-per-year bentonite sulphur plants at Panipat and Nangal. It has also committed 18 percent equity participation of about INR 572.75 crore in a joint venture for a new ammonia-urea plant at Namrup, Assam.
