Company overview
Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited is an Indian public sector undertaking owned by the Government of India and headquartered in Mumbai. It operates two manufacturing complexes, at Thal in Raigad district and Trombay in Mumbai, producing neem-coated urea, complex fertilizers including the Suphala 15:15:15 brand, bio-fertilizers, micronutrients and a range of industrial chemicals such as methanol and formic acid. The company is listed on the National Stock Exchange under the ticker RCF.
For the financial year ended March 2025 the company reported revenue from operations of INR 16,933.64 crore, broadly flat year on year, with profit before tax of INR 327.50 crore and profit after tax of INR 241.63 crore. Fertilizer production totalled 26.95 lakh tonnes, including 20.65 lakh tonnes of urea and 6.04 lakh tonnes of Suphala 15:15:15, and total fertilizer sales volume reached 36.76 lakh tonnes including traded products.
Profitability in the year was affected by losses on DAP imports undertaken at the direction of the Department of Fertilizers and sold at a capped retail price, and by cheaper imports that made several industrial chemical lines difficult to operate, while margins on industrial products and complex fertilizers improved.
